Pre-Departure Breifing
A Pre-Departure Briefing was held on 2 December 2011 for 16 Australian Development Scholarship Awardees and 3 Australia Leadership Award recipients.
English Language Training
The opening of the full-time English Language Training program for Australian Development Scholarships candidates was held on 9 January 2012 at the Puma hotel. The current English Language Training Program run by The Institute of Education and Training (IET) Mongolia is the first full-time program co-funded by the Governments of Australia and Mongolia following an Independent Progress Report recommendation.
The aim of the program is to render assistance to selected and potential Australian Development Scholarships candidates to achieve IELTS 6.5 and above, to meet Australian University requirements.
Attending the opening ceremony were representatives from the Civil Service Committee, Mongolia Australia Scholarships Program (MASP), Austrade, the Mongolia Australia Society (Mozzies), The Institute of Education and Training, AYADS and returned teachers and students. The welcoming speech was made by, the founder of The Institute of Education and Training in Mongolia.
The training will be conducted by native speaking English and Mongolian teachers with several years of overseas experience. The first phase of the training commenced on 9 January 2012 with 20 students that will continue for the coming 3 months.
