  • Case Study, Ministry of Justice & Home Affairs, Australian Development Scholarships (ADS), Mongolia, This case study is focused on the experience of the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs (MOJHA) in Mongolia, and two of its employees who were recipients of Australian Development Scholarships (ADS). Download [PDF]
  • The Vice Minister for Finance, Mr N. Battsereg and the Australian Ambassador to Mongolia, Mr Peter Rowe signed the Subsidiary Arrangement for the Mongolia Australian Scholarships Program (MASP) on Monday evening the 24th November in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This event officially signified the launch of the Program which is responsible for all Australian scholarships to Mongolia. A social event involving officials, past Australian university scholars, AYADs and official guests followed the launch entertained by a national musician group.
  • Currently there are 28 ADS scholars on course in Australian universities, 12 ALA scholars, one Endeavour scholar and one scholar at the University of Wollongong studying transnational crime.
  • 24 ADS scholarships are available in 2009 and 12 scholars will be proceeding to Australian universities in January 2009 to commence their studies in the first semester. 12 scholars will commence their studies in the second semester 2009. 8 ALA scholars will proceed to Australia in January 2009 to commence their studies.
  • Expressions of Interest in ADS for 2010 were called in August and closed in the first week of September. 183 applications were received; 72 for Category 1 and 111 for Category 2.  30 applicants were ranked for the 20 scholarships under Category 1 and 15 were ranked for the 8 scholarships for Category 2.   
  • The University of Humanities commenced in November their first of three courses in English language training. The Advanced English course commenced with two classes with 28 candidates drawn from those ranked for 2010 scholarships that do not have the 6.5 English language requirement to enter an Australian university.
  • Mrs Tsetsgee, the Deputy Program Manager participated as a fellow in an Australian Leadership Award Fellowship in Australia between 19 to 29th October 2008.  The Fellowship conducted by Yellow Edge Pty Limited of Canberra involved leadership training. The outcomes of the training were acquisition of Strategic HRD and Leadership knowledge/new information, skills and visits to selected Australian Government departments. The MWGF team is working to produce a brochure based on learning.
