Eligibility Criteria
Australian Development Scholarships
Applicants must meet all of the eligibility requirements detailed in the Scholarships Handbook, available at: http://www.ausaid.gov.au/scholar/publications.cfm
In addition, applicants must meet the following specific requirements for Mongolia:
- At the time of application have been a full-time employee with your current employer for at least a continuous 2 year period
- Hold a Bachelor degree qualification from an academic institution recognised by Australian universities with a GPA of greater than 3.0
- Be willing to undertake a medical and meet Australian visa requirements
- Be willing to return to work for your respective agency/organisation for a period of not less than 2 years following the completion of studies
- Have the approval of your employer
- Provide an expression of interest (the prescribed application form) including an outline of a proposed study
action plan and an academic
transcript from a recognised Mongolian Tertiary Institution; and - Have a minimum level of English equivalent to an average IELTS level of 5.0 or above
- Have a current police clearance.
English Language Training
English language training in Mongolia will be available to eligible applicants to improve
their English language skills to meet the requirement of Australian universities of 6.5 IELTS. Applicants and their
employers must be
willing to undertake up to 9 months of full-time English Language Training (ELT).
This will require a signed work
release from the employer. The exact number of months of ELT training will be dependent on the applicants IELTS
score above 5.0. For those applicants who already have 6.5 IELTS with no band score below 6.0, immediate
mobilisation will be available for the next available
semester intake.
Australian Leadership Awards
Applicants wishing to be selected for a supplementary Australian Leadership Award must meet all the eligibility criteria outlined above. In addition they must:
- Have a recent English test certificate indicating achievement of 6.5 IELTS (no band less than 6) and above or the equivalent TOEFL score.
When applying for a supplementary Leadership Award please ensure you:
1. Complete the Scholarship application form and tick the ALA supplementary award box - Question 5, Section 15
2. Complete the Leadership Award questions under How to Apply on the MASP website.
3. Attach the completed Leadership Award questions to the online Scholarship application form and send two hard copies to the MASP office.
