Pre-Departure Briefing for applicants placed in Australian universities are conducted twice each year. In November/December for those departing in January and April; for those departing in May. The actual dates of the briefings will be made known to each of the successful candidates by MASP. The briefings are usually of a half-day duration for the successful candidate. MASP recommends that dependants of successful candidates accompanying the candidate to Australia should also attend the briefing.
You will be briefed by MASP staff prior to your departure. This briefing will be conducted with other scholarship candidates as one group. The emphasis placed upon pre-departure training depends upon the length of the Scholarship.
Introductory briefing by the MASP Deputy Program Manager
This is designed to provide you with an overview of your scholarship program. The Deputy Program Manager (MASP) will conduct this session which is usually undertaken individually with successful applicants.
Briefing by the MASP Placement Staff
The MASP Placement staff will visit you to talk about the university placement process as well as provide information to you on the required medical examination and visa application process.
Application for Student Visa to study in Australia
The visa form will be provided to you by the Placement staff. You should complete this form and return it to the MASP office, as advised by MASP Placement staff. Applicants are encouraged to complete to complete this application themselves but draw on the support of MASP when necessary. Click here to download the form.
Successful applicants are responsible for visa requirements however, MASP will provide support in its completion, finalising the medical examination and sending the documents to DIAC in Beijing. Family members, however, will be responsible for obtaining visas and undertaking the medical examination and MASP will provide assistance where required. Successful applicants will need to pay for family members visas and medical examination costs. Obtaining visas can take some time and should be commenced at the earliest. |
